The Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies at the City University of New York has announced a new scholarship program for underrepresented minority students pursuing degree programs in labor studies. Students who are selected to receive the scholarships will receive up to $20,000 for the last two years of undergraduate study or $30,000 for two years of graduate study.
Gregory Mantsios, director of the Murphy Institute, stated, “We are deeply committed to preparing a new generation of union leaders, worker advocates, and labor scholars, one that more accurately reflects the composition of the U.S. labor force.”
