Tuskegee University, the historically Black educational institution in Alabama, has broken ground on a new 150,000-square-foot teaching hospital for its School of Veterinary Medicine. The new complex will contain space for clinical care, offices, and teaching facilities and will include areas for surgery, radiology, anesthesiology, medical records, and pharmacy.
The new complex is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. The project is budgeted at $41 million.
The new hospital facility will allow the veterinary school to enroll more students and also to provide more veterinary services to the surrounding community.
