Eric Jack Named Dean of the Business School at the University of Alabama Birmingham

Jack-EricThe School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has announced the Eric Jack has been selected as dean. Dr. Jack is an associate professor in the department of management, information systems, and quantitative methods and has been serving as interim dean since October. He has also served as associate dean of the business school since 2008.

Dr. Jack served 21 years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds an MBA from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and a Ph.D. in operations management from the University of Cincinnati.

In Memoriam: William Strickland, 1937-2024

Strickland spent his lifetime dedicated to advancing civil rights and Black political representation. For four decades, he served as a professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he taught courses on Black history and the civil rights movement.
