Robert Hill Retiring as Vice Chanellor for Public Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh

robert-hillRobert Hill, vice chancellor for public affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, announced that he will retire from the university at the end of this month. He has held his present post since 1999. Previously, he spent 21 years at Syracuse University, rising to the rank of vice president for public relations and one year as vice president for university advancement at California University of Pennsylvania.

As the chief communications officer of the University of Pittsburgh, Hill founded the Pitt Chronicle, the university’s first weekly newspaper and has served as publisher of Pitt Magazine and Pitt Med, the news publication of the university’s medical school.

Hill is a graduate of Manhattan Community College in New York City and earned a bachelor’s degree at the Stern School of Business of New York University. He holds a master’s degree in management from Manhattan College.
