A Trio of Black Scholars in New Teaching Posts

melody-howardMelody Howard-Clark was named a visiting lecturer in English at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. She had been an adjunct instructor at the university for the past year and previously taught at Anderson University.

Howard-Clark holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Indiana University and a second master’s degree from Butler University in Indianapolis.

WalumbwaFred Walumbwa was appointed associate professor of management and international business at Florida International University in Miami. He was an associate professor of management in Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business in Tempe. Earlier, he taught at the University of Nebraska. He is the co-editor of Authentic Leadership Theory and Practice: Origins, Effects and Development (Emerald Group Publishing, 2005).

Dr. Walumbwa is a graduate of Egerton University in Kenya. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the University of Illinois.

hicksDerek S. Hicks was appointed assistant professor of religion and culture at the School of Divinity at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For the past two years, Dr. Hicks has been the Henry Luce Diversity Fellow at the divinity school.

Dr. Hicks is a graduate of Grambling State University in Louisiana. He holds a master’s degree from the Dallas Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Rice University in Houston. He is the author of Reclaiming Spirit in the Black Faith Tradition (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012).
