Alabama State University in Montgomery has established the Nuclear Protection Academy, a new unit that will train security personnel for nuclear, electric, and other power installations. The new educational effort will team up with Total Protection Services (TPS), a Charlotte-based security firm that provides security services for government and corporate installations.
At the present time, TPS recruits many of its professionals who have had security experience in the government or military. The new academy at Alabama State will provide a new pipeline for the company to train professionals who will have a career waiting for them when they graduate from college.
Classes in the academy are scheduled to being in fall of 2014.
