Daniel T. Stallworth, who taught mathematics at Alabama State University in Montgomery for nearly half a century has died at the age of 79.
A native of Beatrice, Alabama, Stallworth graduated from Alabama State in 1956. He then taught at the high school level for four years while pursuing a master’s degree at what is now Clark Atlanta University. He joined the Alabama State faculty in 1961. He was co-author of two textbooks, Basic College Mathematics: A Research Oriented Program and Basic Math and College Algebra.
