In Memoriam: Lonnie E. Duncan, 1967-2013

duncanLonnie Duncan, an associate professor of counseling education and counseling psychology at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, died while attending church services on New Year’s Eve. He was 46 years old.

Dr. Duncan had served on the faculty at Western Michigan University since 2000. In addition to his teaching duties, Duncan was the co-training director of the university’s counseling psychology doctoral program and was a member of the Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education. Before coming to Western Michigan University, he taught psychology and African American studies at Northern Illinois University.

Dr. Duncan was a graduate of Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He held master’s and doctoral degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
