Myron Hughes is the new senior associate vice president of development for diversity and inclusion at the University of Cincinnati Foundation. Since 2008, he has served as executive director of the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association.
Hughes is the former manager of national marketing for the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce and was vice president of economic development for the Chamber of Commerce in Tampa, Florida.
Keith Pierce was named communications coordinator for outreach and international affairs at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. Pierce is the former press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Pierce is a graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He served as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Army and the National Guard.
Shea Kidd Houze is the new associate director for external affairs for the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association. She was the coordinator of the First Scholars Program at the University of Memphis.
Houze is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Georgia and is on track to earn a doctoral degree in educational research from the University of Memphis in December.
Talitha Washington, associate professor of mathematics at Howard University, has been elected to the executive committee of the Association for Women in Mathematics. This organization seeks to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the field.
Dr. Washington is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Connecticut.
