Oakwood University, the historically Black educational institution in Huntsville, Alabama, has announced the appointment of three individuals in its Division of Advancement and Development.
George Johnson Jr. is the new director of integrated marketing and public relations. He was the communications director for the North American division of Seventh-day Adventists. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and has a graduate certificate in strategic public relations and integrated communications.
Denica King was appointed assistant director of marketing. She is responsible for managing marketing operations with print publications, radio and television, internet, mobile, and out-0f-home advertising.
Cheri Wilson has returned to the development department after leading the university’s department of adult and continuing education. She will be involved in major gift fundraising. She holds a certificate in fundraising management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis.
