New Administrative Roles for Four African American Academics

JHardrickJaffus Hardrick was named the inaugural vice provost for student access and success at Florida International University in Miami. He will continue in his role at the university as vice president for human resources. Before coming to FIU, he was assistant vice president for human resources and assistant provost at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Hardrick is a graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He holds a master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University in Texas and a doctorate from Baylor University.

PatriciaSalleyPatricia Salley was named director of alumni relations at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. She was the community development manager for the Orangeburg County Development Commission.

Salley is graduate of South Carolina State University.

Melanie-HartMelanie Hart was named director of the Community Legal Resource Network at the City University of New York School of Law. She was the interim CEO at Legal Information for Families Today (LIFT).

Hart is a graduate of Cornell University, the Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy at the New School, and the University of Virginia School of Law.

GOkotieuroGbubemi Okotieuro was appointed vice president for government relations at Berkeley College in New York. He served as associate dean and director of government and community relations at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn.

Okotieuro is graduate of the City University of New York, where he majored in film production and theatre arts. He holds a master of public administration degree from Baruch College of the City University of New York.
