Two Black Scholars Named to Endowed Chairs

Dr._Dhyana_Ziegler-FAMUDhyana Ziegler was named to the Garth C. Reeves Eminent Scholar Chair in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She will assume the endowed chair in July. Dr. Ziegler joined the faculty at the university in 1997.

Dr. Ziegler is a graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

WarrenJonesWarren A. Jones was appointed to the Endowed Chair in Health Disparities Research at Dillard University in New Orleans. He is the former director of the Mississippi Institute for Improvement of Geographic Minority Health and Health Disparities at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Jones is a 1978 graduate of Dillard University and earned his M.D. at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
