Kent State University in Ohio Recognized for Its Efforts to Promote Diversity

KSU_sealKent State University in Ohio received that 2014 Institutional Excellence Award from the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. The award is bestowed on institutions that have shown progress in promoting and sustaining innovative diversity efforts within their campus communities. The award was presented at the association’s annual conference in San Diego.

According to the most recent Department of Education statistics, Kent State University enrolls about 22,500 undergraduate students and 6,000 graduate students. Some 9 percent of the undergraduate student body is Black. African Americans make up 12.5 percent of the Ohio population.
