North Carolina A&T State University to Offer MBA Degree Program

North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro has received approval from the University of North Carolina General Administration to offer a master of business administration (MBA) degree program. Up to now the university has offered a master of science degree program in management. The MBA program, which will begin this fall, will offer concentrations in accounting, human resource management and supply chain systems.

Joe B. Whitehead Jr., provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the university, stated, “this is an excellent opportunity for North Carolina A&T to showcase its wealth of knowledge and expertise. This MBA program will prepare more qualified and highly marketable employees who understand the business process. Our goal is to create an MBA graduate who is adept in a specific area of concentration but who can also apply interdisciplinary knowledge within a management system.”

Dr. Whitehead Jr. has served in his current post since last August. Previously, he was dean of the College of Science and Technology at the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and earned a Ph.D. in physics at Kent State University in Ohio.
