AidData is a research and innovation laboratory headquartered at the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. AidData tracks more than $5.5 trillion in development aid through more than a million development projects throughout the world. In addition to the College of William and Mary, other partners in AidData include Brigham Young University and the University of Texas.
Now AidData has teamed up with the African Development Bank to offer a new tool for grant makers. MapAfrica is an interactive online platform that offers new ways to view development projects and improve the targeting, coordination, and evaluation of aid projects. Users can view the geographic location of where aid dollars have been allocated at the country, district, or city level.
