Terrell Lamont Strayhorn was promoted to full professor in the department of educational studies in the College of Education and Human Ecology at Ohio State University. The appointment makes Dr. Strayhorn the youngest full professor at Ohio State. Dr. Strayhorn is also the director of the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, & Academic Success at the university. He is an affiliated faculty member in African American and African studies, sexuality studies, and engineering education.
Professor Strayhorn is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He holds a master’s degree from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia and an educational doctorate from Virginia Tech. He is the author of several books including Theoretical Frameworks in College Student Research (University Press of America/Rowman & Littlefield, 2013) and The Evolving Challenges of Black College Students (Stylus Publishing, 2010).
