Tuskegee University, the historically Black educational institution in Alabama, has signed an agreement with Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Space Systems division that will allow Tuskegee students and faculty the opportunity to work on the company’s development of the Dream Chaser Orbital Transportation System. The new space vehicle is being designed to transport astronauts and cargo to and from low Earth orbital destinations, including the International Space Station.
Under the agreement, the company will support research projects for Tuskegee students and faculty to advance the technical design of the space vehicle. The company will also fund internships for Tuskegee students.
