Wiley College President Haywood Strickland to Lead National Organization

Haywood L. Strickland, president of Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, has been appointed president of the National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church.

“I am humbled by the association’s trust in me to lead our efforts to help ensure the viability and relevancy of our schools as we educate the whole student and prepare them for lives as  Christian Leaders who will change our world for the better,” said Dr. Strickland.

Dr. Strickland has been president of Wiley College since 2000. The college, in East Texas near the Louisiana border, enrolls about 1,400 students. Dr. Strickland also serves as vice president of the Council of President of the United Negro College Fund.
