Grambling State University Pushes Back Timetable for Selecting Its Next President

GramblingStateUniversitySealGrambling State University in Louisiana had planned to name its next president in October. But a delay in securing the services of an executive search firm with experience in choosing leaders for historically Black colleges and universities has now pushed the timetable for the announcement of a new president to the spring of 2015.

The new timetable involves the selection of a search firm by October and an application deadline for the president’s position in February. Semifinalists will be selected and interviewed in March and finalists will be chosen in April.

University of Louisiana System President Sandra K. Woodley stated that “we continue to move the process forward as quickly as possible and we are on track to ensure a comprehensive search for new leadership. We are also fortunate to have interim President Cynthia Warrick onboard to address the many challenges facing the institution.”
