A new report from the Council on Graduate Schools shows that the number of foreign applicants to U.S. graduate schools in 2014 increased by 10 percent from 2013. This was the tenth consecutive year in which the number of foreign applicants has increased.
The number of foreign applicants from Africa increased by 9 percent in 2014. This is the second year in a row that applicants from Africa have increased. In 2012, there was a 3 percent drop in applicants from Africa compared to 2011.
The number of foreign students accepted at U.S. graduate schools increased by 9 percent. This was the fifth consecutive year in the number of foreign students accepted. While the number of applicants from Africa increased by 9 percent, the number of students accepted at U.S. graduate schools from Africa increased by 3 percent in 2014.
