Sojourner-Douglass College in Baltimore has entered into a partnership agreement with Saint Monica University: The American International University in Cameroon. Sojourner-Douglass College enrolls about 1,100 students and about 90 percent of the student body is Black. It is not designated a historically Black college because it was founded after 1964.
The agreement calls for transferring credits for students of both institutions so students from Sojourner-Douglass can study in Africa and students in Cameroon can earn credits or complete their degree programs in the United States.
“The mission of this joint endeavor is to provide high quality educational programming to developing markets in the United States, in Cameroon and throughout the world at an affordable cost,” said Dr. Charles W. Simmons, president and founder of Sojourner-Douglass College. “The purpose of this strategic alliance and partnership is to provide in concert the quality, depth, breadth and sustainability of blended educational programming that neither of the parties to this agreement is able to provide alone.”
I am so proud experiencing hard working people like the board of Regents of St. Monica University especially the president, Prof. JJ Asongu, who works day and night tirelessly, for the growth and well being of all young people in the world especially Cameroon.
