Maria Mayberry is the new associate director of the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She was the director of Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Oklahoma in Tulsa.
Mayberry is a graduate of Langston University in Oklahoma and holds a master’s degree in human relations and organizational development from the University of Oklahoma.
Alexandrina Deschamps was named associate dean of the Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Since 2008, she has been the director of student recruitment and outreach for the honors college.
A graduate of the University of the West Indies, Dr. Deschamps holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.
Lindsey Horton was appointed associate vice president for safety and security at Jackson State University in Mississippi. Horton served for 30 years on the Jackson police force and rose to the rank of chief of police.
Horton has also taught martial arts at Jackson State for more than 40 years.
Pamela L. Jennings was named director of the Center for Design Innovation at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. She is a former program officer in the Computer Information Science and Engineering Directorate of the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Jennings is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio. She earned a master’s degree in studio art at New York University, a master of fine arts degree in computer art from the School of Visual Arts in New York, an MBA at the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in human-centered systems design and digital media at the University of Plymouth in England.
Nell Russell is the new associate vice president for human resources and diversity at the University of Wyoming. For the past two years she was worked as an independent consultant. From 2004 to 2012, Russell was associate vice president for diversity at the University of Wyoming.
Russell is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, where she majored in political science. She holds a master’s degree in education administration from the University of Akron in Ohio.
