Jonathan Raymond Reed, a long-time obstetrician and gynecologist and an assistant clinical professor at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, died on November 3, two days short of his 81st birthday. Dr. Reed practiced medicine in St. Louis for nearly a half century.
Dr. Reed was a native of Chicago. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he majored in biology. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he returned to the United States and earned a medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville.
