In Memoriam: Waymon T. Webster, 1927-2015

WebsterWaymon T. Webster, a long-time faculty member at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, died last month. He was 87 years old.

Dr. Webster was a native of Hearne, Texas. After serving in the U.S. Army, he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music at Prairie View A&M University. He was a band instructor at Kemp High School in Bryan, Texas, for 11 years and then earned a Ph.D. in educational psychology at Texas A&M University.

Professor Webster joined the faculty at Prairie View in 1967. During his years on the faculty, he served as chair of the department of counselor education and the department of psychology. He also served as dean of the Graduate School.
