Howard University Makes a Significant Move Up in Law School Rankings

best-grad-schoolsU.S. News and World Report recently released its rankings of the nation’s best law schools. The Howard University School of Law ranked 110th in the listings. Howard was the only law school at a historically Black university to be included in the listings of the 150 best law schools in the nation. Howard University School of Law was tied in the rankings with the law schools at the University of Maine and Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

Howard made a dramatic improvement in the rankings from a year ago, when it was rated as the 135th best law school. The reasons for the improvement were the result of a rise in law school admission test scores and undergraduate grade-point averages of the most recent class. Also there was major improvement in the number of graduates who were employed within nine months of receiving their law degrees.
