Racial Incident at the University of South Carolina

south-carolinaThe University of South Carolina has suspended a woman student after a photo was circulated on the internet showing the student writing on a white board in a university study room. The photo showed the woman making a list of “Reasons Why USC WiFi Blows.”

The first entry on the list was “niggers.” Other reasons included “incompetent professors,” “ratchets,” and “overpopulated campus.”

University of South Carolina President Harris Pastides issued a statement that read in part, “Respect for all is at the heart of the Carolina Creed, the code by which we agree to abide. Racist and uncivil rhetoric have no place at the University of South Carolina.”
