LeRoy Pernell Stepping Down as Dean of the College of Law at Florida A&M University

pernellLeRoy Pernell, dean of the College of Law a Florida A&M University in Orlando, has announced that he will leave his post this fall and return to his full-time faculty position.

Professor Pernell became dean in 2008. Previously he served for 10 years as dean of the College of Law at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Prior to that time, Pernell was a faculty member of the law school at Ohio State University.

In a statement to the law school community, Dean Pernell wrote, “I have been privileged to be involved with the expansion of the faculty, the adoption and support of programs designed to successfully improve bar passage performance, and the growth in attracting and matriculating well-qualified students capable of professional success while contributing to making a transformative difference in the communities in which we serve. I could not be more proud to be associated with the hard work and sacrifices that have made us what we are.”

Dean Pernell is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the law school at Ohio State University.
