LeMoyne-Owen College, the historically Black educational institution in Memphis, Tennessee, has entered into preliminary talks with the University of Memphis aimed at providing high-tech assistance to the college. LeMoyne-Owen, which recently announced the appointment of Andrea Miller as its new president (see JBHE post here), is looking for ways to provide high-tech services without the expense of purchasing major computer and networking infrastructure.
The college is hoping to use the university’s computer networks for tasks such as online course registration, online instruction, alumni relations, and fundraising.
