Terrence Hicks was named dean of the Clemmer College of Education at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Dr. Hicks has been serving on the faculty at the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. He has served as associate dean and dean of College of Education at Prairie View. From 2004 to 2012, Dr. Hicks was on the faculty at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina.
Dr. Hicks is the co-author or co-editor of five books including Research Studies in Higher Education; Educating Multicultural College Students (University Press of America, 2012) and The Educational Lockout of African Americans in Prince Edward County, Virginia (1959-1964): Personal Accounts and Reflections (University Press of America, 2010).
Dr. Hicks holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in education from Virginia State University. He earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Wilmington University in Delaware and a Ph.D. in counseling from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
