Apple Inc. has announced the new Apple Scholars program in conjunction with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This program will offer a one-year scholarship of up to $25,000 for 30 students selected as Apple Scholars.
In addition, the scholars will participate in a summer internship at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, and be involved in a year-round development program to prepare for post-graduation careers. Each of the 30 Apple Scholars will be appointed a mentor who is an Apple employee.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a historically Black college or university or a predominantly Black college or university and be majoring in computer science, information science/technology, mathematics, or engineering. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
