Andrea Lewis Miller Chosen as the Next President of Baton Rouge Community College

The board of supervisors of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System has named Andrea Lewis Miller chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College. The college has about 8,300 students, with about equal numbers of Blacks and Whites.

Since 2006, Dr. Miller has been serving as chancellor of Sowela Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Previously, she was provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, administration, and planning at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Dr. Miller holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology from Atlanta University. She did postdoctoral research in the department of anatomy at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

  1. Congratulations on your appointment, Dr. Miller! I would imagine that you have a lot to contribute to medical research. The need is great for the African American community.

  2. Miller was an absolutely horrible, incompetent joke of an administrator. Her educational standards were piss-poor, she couldn’t communicate with students if her life depended on it, and her primary concern was hiding in her office trying to suck up all the tuition money she could for herself.
    This state, and whatever schools are dumb or desperate enough to hire her, would be far better served if she realized the educational field isn’t her place and left it.
