A message containing a racial slur was found carved on the inside of a bathroom door in the Spence Laboratories on the campus of the University of Iowa. The university sent maintenance workers to the site to sand off the racist message.
University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld issued a statement that read in part, “This act is offensive to our community and will not be tolerated. An investigation is underway and if the individual(s) responsible are identified, appropriate actions will be taken.”
I recommend that all people of color leave the white universities. This is most important for blacks in sports at major universities. I AM BLACK AND PROUD!
A racial slur written on a restroom door is only “words”. Let us not be a people who are cowed by just words! I grew up with the principle, “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”. The hyper-sensitivity to words and not actions are doing the cause of Black people in America more harm than good.
