
Since 2006, Dr. Bell has served on the faculty and has been director of multicultural affairs in the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction at Auburn University in Alabama. She is one of only 12 African American women nationwide who hold a tenured faculty position in architecture. Dr. Jackson taught at Tuskegee University from 1993 to 2006.
Dr. Bell is the author of Space Unveiled: Invisible Cultures in the Design Studio (Routledge, 2014). She is a 1991 graduate of Tuskegee University. Dr. Bell earned a master of fine arts degree in interior design at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia, and a Ph.D. in architecture education from the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
