Patricia Green-Powell, associate dean for student affairs and a professor of educational leadership at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, received the Sadie M. Yancey Professional Service Award from the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals.
Dr. Green-Powell earned a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology at Florida A&M University. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in educational administration and leadership from Florida State University.
Yemane Asmeron, a professor in the department of earth and planetary sciences at the University of New Mexico, was named a Geochemistry Fellow by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry. Dr. Asmeron will be honored in June at the 2016 Goldschmidt Conference in Yokohama, Japan.
Dr. Asmeron has served on the faculty at the University of New Mexico for more than two decades. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and did postdoctoral research at Harvard University and the University of Minnesota.
