Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, has announced plans to build a new student center on campus. The four-story, 110,000-square-foot building will consist of a two-story podium containing student services, food services, state-of-the-art wellness facilities, and common areas. The top two stories of the new center will be used for student residences. Surrounding the new building will be an outdoor amphitheater and dining, and multiple outdoor lounges and multipurpose areas.
The new building will be environmentally friendly with extensive natural light sources, rain gardens, and a green roof and terrace.
The new center is still in initial planning stages. A complete architectural plan is scheduled to be unveiled by January 2017.
