Jarvis Christian College, a historically Black educational institution in Hawkins, Texas, has announced that it is opening its first satellite campus at the Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas. The college, which opened its doors in 1913, enrolls more than 850 undergraduate students with African Americans making up 83 percent of the student body.
The new satellite campus in Dallas will offer a bachelor’s degree in religion, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in accounting, computer information systems, management, and marketing.
Classes at the Dallas campus will begin on September 20, about one month after classes started at the Hawkins campus. The Dallas campus will offer a flexible schedule that will be attractive to working adults.
