New Roles for Two Black Faculty Members at Major Universities

ogbonnaKelechi C. Ogbonna, an assistant professor in the department of pharmacotherapy and outcomes science at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, has been given the added duties of associate dean for admissions and student services at the School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Ogbonna joined the faculty at the university in 2012 and has been serving as the director of the geriatric residency program at the university. He earned his doctor of pharmacy degree at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston and is completing work on a master’s degree in health administration at Virginia Commonwealth University.

RichesonJennifer Richeson was appointed the Philip R. Allen Professor of Psychology at Yale University. She was the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Endowed Chair in psychology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She also served as professor of African American studies at the university. Previously, she taught at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Dr. Richeson is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University.
