Here is this week’s news of grants to historically Black colleges and universities or for programs of particular interest to African Americans in higher education.
Winston-Salem State University, the historically Black educational institution in North Carolina, received a $75,000 grant from the North Carolina Community College System to redesign the curriculum for the registered nurse to bachelor of nursing degree program.
Kansas State University received a four-year, $1.1 million grant for programs to conduct research on beef and dairy cattle systems in Ethiopia.
Historically Black Florida A&M University in Tallahassee has received a pledge for up to $5 million in research and development work over the next five years from Lockheed Martin Corporation and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The research will involve projects relating to NASA projects for Mars.
