Raina Merchant, an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, has been given the additional duties as associate vice president for the University of Pennsylvania Health System and director of the university’s Center for Digital Health.
Dr. Merchant is a graduate of Yale University, where she majored in psychobiology. She holds a master’s degree in health policy research from the University of Pennsylvania and a medical doctorate from the University of Chicago.
Norman Anderson was named a research professor in the College of Social Work and the College of Nursing at Florida State University. He will also serve as assistant vice president for research and academic affairs. For the past 13 years, Dr, Anderson has been CEO of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Anderson is the former associate director of the National Institutes of Health. Earlier in his career, Professor Anderson taught at Duke University and the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Anderson is a graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Kristie Williams is the inaugural Faculty Diversity Fellow at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. A grant from the KeyBank Foundation will fund Williams’ appointment for two semesters.
Dr. Williams was a career services supervisor at the Cuyahoga County Public Library. She recently completed a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision at the University of Akron.
Keisha R. Callins is a new assistant professor and chair of the department of community medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. She was the assistant medical director for Albany Area Primary Health Care in Albany, Georgia.
Dr. Callins is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in biology. She holds a master of public health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a medical doctorate from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.
