Aimee Meredith Cox is a new associate professor of African American studies and an associate professor of anthropology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Previously, she had taught at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Cox is the author of Shapeshifters: Black Girls and the Choreography of Citizenship (Duke University Press, 2015).
Dr. Cox is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she majored in anthropology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from the University of Michigan.
Sami Schalk is a new assistant professor of gender and women’s studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was an assistant professor of English at the University at Albany of the State University of New York System.
Dr. Schalk is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she majored in women’s studies and creative writing. She holds a master of fine arts degree in poetry from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in gender studies from Indiana University.
