New Administrative Positions in Higher Education for Four African Americans

Shontay Delalue was named vice president for institutional equity and diversity at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She has served in this role on an interim basis since June. She joined the staff at Brown in 2013 as director of international student and visitor experience.

Dr. Delalue holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maine. She earned a Ph.D. in education through a joint program of the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College.

Julius Korley was named director of entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships in the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware. He was the associate director of the Case-Coulter Translational Research Partnership in the department of biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Dr. Korley is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, where he majored in biology. He holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Kevin Marbury is the new vice president for student life at the University of Oregon. He has served in this role on an interim basis since October 2016. Earlier he was director of physical education and recreation at the university. Before joining the staff at the University of Oregon, Dr. Marbury was director of recreation and wellness at Old Dominion University in Virginia.

Dr. Marbury is a graduate of Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where he majored in biology and physical education. He earned a master’s degree and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of North Texas.

Tineke Battle was appointed assistant vice provost for faculty affairs and human resources at Pennsylvania State University, effective January 15. She has been serving as director of human resources at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Battle is a graduate of Georgia State University, where she majored in sociology. She earned a master’s degree in learning leadership and organizational development from the University of Georgia.
