Oglethorpe University in Atlanta received a $500,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for programs to increase faculty diversity in the humanities.
Historically Black Delaware State University received a three-year, $723,285 grant from the National Science Foundation for research on a particular glial cell and the development of synchronous activity in the brain.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis received a $843,694 grant from the U.S. Department of Defense for research to examine why Black men are more likely to have prostate cancer than White men.
