University of Botswana Partners With Southern Illinois University Carbondale

Southern Illinois University at Carbondale has signed a cooperative agreement with the University of Botswana. Under the five-year agreement, the two universities will provide cultural, educational, research, and exchange opportunities for students and faculty at each institution. Students and faculty at each institution will be encouraged to explore exchange opportunities with the partner university. Distance learning initiatives between the two universities will also be explored.

Rita Cheng, chancellor of Southern Illinois University, said, “It is through relationships such as this that we are able to enhance cultural understanding, which is essential to our global society. Faculty and staff from both universities will benefit from new collaborations and the exchange of new knowledge.”
