Regina Favors has been named interim president of Arkansas Baptist College, a historically Black educational institution in Little Rock. According to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education, the college enrolls just under 600 students. African Americans are 93 percent of the student body.
Favors has been serving as president and CEO of Pinnacle Business Solutions, a subsidiary of Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. Previously, she had worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has taught as an adjunct professor at Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College, and Webster University.
Upon accepting her new role, President Favors stated, “The greatest challenge we have before us is rising up to meet the needs of our community by being true to our founding mission. If we do that, and do it well, we will resolve our current challenges and continue to have a positive impact on the lives of generations to come.”
President Favors is an alumna of Arkansas Baptist College. She also holds a master’s degree in education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
