Ebonya Washington Named the Samuel C. Park Jr. Professor of Economics at Yale University

Ebonya Washington has been named the Samuel C. Park Jr. Professor of Economics at Yale University.

Dr. Washington has taught at Yale since 2004, when she joined the faculty as an assistant professor of economics. Prior to her most recent appointment, she was the Henry Kohn Associate Professor of Economics. Before coming to Yale, she lectured in economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also held various positions at the National Bureau of Economic Research since 2004.

In addition to teaching. Dr. Washington serves as associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the foreign editor of the Review of Economic Studies. She holds advisory roles at the National Science Foundation and the National Academy of Science, and is the co-chair of the Committee on the Status of Minority Groups in the Economics Profession.

Dr. Washington has won Yale’s Arthur Greer Memorial Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Publication or Research and a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation, among numerous other honors.

Dr. Washington holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
