Arianne Bazilio is a new assistant professor of environmental science and chemistry at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and Ralph F. Murphy II was named the James K. Polk Diversity Faculty Fellow for Business, Legal, and Information Systems at Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
April L. Jones was appointed chair of the department of social work at Tuskegee University in Alabama and Monique L. Akassi was named associate provost for faculty affairs at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Gay is the Wilbur A. Cowett Professor of Government and of African and African American Studies and is the founding chair of Harvard’s Inequality in America Initiative. She joined the faculty in 2006 and has served as dean of social science for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences since 2015.
Taking on new assignments are Coray Davis at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina, Terrell L. Strayhorn at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, and Lydia Thompson at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Ronnie A. Dunn, an associate professor of urban affairs at Cleveland State University, and Keith A. Alford, an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Syracuse University in New York, will both be serving as their university's chief diversity officers.
