Reporting to the Vice President of the Office of Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs (OCMPA), the Director of Communications is integral in helping the College achieve its strategic objectives. OCMPA is responsible for the College’s identity, external outreach, and internal, external, leadership communications. Within OCMPA’s expansive range of responsibilities, the portfolio of the Director of Communications includes all communications, which includes but is not limited to speech writing and thought leadership vehicles, such as opinion articles, blogs and speaking engagements, multiple newsletters, campus-wide messaging, event invitations, emergency communications, DEI messaging, and content sharing across school newsletters.

Duties:

  • Lead content development and manage complex schedules surrounding weekly, biweekly, monthly, and emergency internal and external communications; collect, analyze, and adjust according to engagement analytics such as open rates and click throughs.
  • Collaborate with college partners to lead and oversee development of print and digital collateral (brochures, e.g., one-pagers, digital ads, paid social, webpages and microsites).
  • Lead the editorial, inform collateral, and manage distribution efforts of college-wide campaigns, for such signature events as presidential socials, donation drives, and strategic plan milestones.
  • Develops speechwriting for the president and as needed for the provost and other senior administrators. Collaborate with partners college-wide to script Commencement and other signature events.
  • Develop and launch thought-leadership platform for college president.
  • Provide counsel to partners in terms of how best to support their editorial and communications needs.
  • Collaborate with the OCMPA team to create and update website content.
  • Effectively manage direct reports and assign projects across the above initiatives to best support our clients’ needs.

Compensation and Benefits:
$124,656 – 132,987; salary commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required.. Degree in Communications or Journalism preferred.
