Job Description:

The Administrative Coordinator for the Brown Center for Biomedical Informatics (BCBI) provides executive assistance to the senior leadership team and general administrative assistance for the center. Through its research, education, and service activities, BCBI is involved with development and application of informatics and data science approaches to accelerate clinical and translational research, support artificial intelligence in health care, and promote learning health systems. BCBI provides the leadership and operational support for the Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, and Cyberinfrastructure Enhancement (BIBCE) Core of Advance RI-CTR, a statewide hub of research resources and services for clinical and translational investigators in Rhode Island.

The Administrative Coordinator supports BCBI leadership with calendar management, education programs and courses, event planning and management, operating budget monitoring and analysis, and internal and external communication across multiple channels. The incumbent is relied upon to research, analyze, and resolve issues that arise to make effective use of the Center Director’s time. The Administrative Coordinator is also responsible for general administrative support for faculty, staff, and students, such as providing meeting and event support, performing inventory management supporting maintenance and tracking of informational assets, assisting onboarding and offboarding processes, and assisting with financial and grant functions.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 1-2 years of related support experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience required. Experience in a university setting, preferred.
