Job Description:
Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Assistant Coach, Women’s Ice Hockey. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).
The Assistant Coach, Women’s Ice Hockey is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of a varsity intercollegiate athletic program in support of the mission and core values of the Division of Athletics and Recreation/Brown University. Duties may include recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies which prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing booster clubs and development initiatives; organizing sport camps; and budget management.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent if international, or four years of coaching experience.
- One to three years ice hockey coaching experience at the high school level and/or collegiate playing experience; collegiate coaching experience preferred.

- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; budgeting and computer skills needed.
- Passion for ice hockey, and the ability to coach and motivate.

Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
