Reporting to the Director, Dean’s Initiatives, the Executive Assistant provides critical, high-level administrative support to the Dean of the School of Public Health in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position serves as the central liaison between the Dean of the School of Public Health, the Associate Deans, Senior SPH leadership, Department Chairs, Center Directors, Advancement, the University, and other constituents outside of Brown University. The Executive Assistant is responsible to assist the Dean in administrative functions. Manages the Dean’s calendar and scheduling; coordinates meeting preparation, including the gathering of meeting materials; makes travel arrangements; and assists with special projects and events. Drafts briefs and itineraries. The Executive Assistant will facilitate the flow of information in the Office of the Dean and be responsible for maintaining organizational processes to strengthen internal workflows and improve coordination. This position will execute methodology for information flow, decision requests, special project management and tracking, and deliverables on a day-to day basis. Manage the Dean’s demanding schedule, inbox, and complex international and domestic travel.

Education/Experience:
- BA/BS with at least 5 years of related experience preferably in an academic environment or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Exceptional attention to detail, proactive nature, ability to multi-task and work well both independently and as a member of a team
- Professional demeanor with the ability to project a positive image and represent the Office of the Dean
- Excellent computer skills: expertise in Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs, PowerPoint, and other information management/database programs
- Excellent organizational and creative problem-solving skills
